How to Make a Bejeweled Headband

A friend of mine recently showed me her elastic tie headband from Thailand.  She has never seen one in the US, and I find that ridiculous.  I purposed to make one for my little girl stat.  This one goes on the quick and easy list, so it's a must-share since it's also quite unique.

What You Need

  • long piece of FOE- I chose pink for my girl
  • 4 jewels/beads

{Note: your beads must have openings wide enough to fit the elastic through.}

Step 1: Cut the elastic nice and long.

You want the elastic to wrap around your head and be able to be tied in a bow.  That's a good amount of elastic, up to 24 inches.

Step 2:Thread the beads on the ends of the elastic.

I folded the elastic in on itself in order to thread the beads.

I did 2 beads per side.

Step 3: Make a hair tie!

The fun part is that instead of sewing or gluing the ends to make the headband, you'll wrap it around your head and up, and then tie it in a bow on top of your head.

Ta-da!!!!!
